Type of water:  Small stillwater.
Description:  Rhayader and Elan Valley Angling Association control Llyn Gwyn, a natural spring fed 16 acre lake in quiet countryside, 3 miles from Rhayader. Depth varies up to 50ft. Carp fishing is also available - the lake was originally stocked with carp from central Europe in the 12th century by Cistercian monks from the nearby Abbey-Cwm-Hir.

WINTER SEASON: 18th October to 19th March
Species:  Rainbow trout, brown trout
Stocking policy:  Restocked every week with rainbow trout from 1lb 4oz to 5lb.
